What to do in Caorle with children
The natural context in which we are immersed makes Caorle a particularly popular destination for families with children: awaiting you are the clean sea, uncontaminated nature to explore by bike along one of the many cycling trails maybe upon the discovery of the casoni or the hinterland, all the water canals and the Lagoon, the big open space, the climate mitigated by the sea even in summer, first class facilities, and a host of services. We basically have everything you need to enjoy a first-class stay without having to look elsewhere. What's more, for children we have a series of attractions which will make their holiday even more special and everybody knows that happy children make for happy parents!
1) To the beach!
Whatever beach you opt for, it's going to have crystal clear waters and a living ecosystem (what could be more fun for the little ones than capturing crab and hermit crabs then releasing them back into the sea?). Our beaches have gently sloping seabeds, ample space between one parasol and the next (a free beach is also available), assistance, refreshment points and a host of services, including entertainment on the beach, medical assistance and opportunities to practice sailing sports from a young age!
2) The Black Pearl
Any beach worthy of the children who play on it should have a pirate ship that they can hop on board to duel against a crew of buccaneers! Caorle has this! You can hop on the "Black Pearl" from different spots along the coast; a tender comes to pick you up on the seashore and then the adventure begins on board. For a couple of hours, spend time with the crew all dressed up as pirates, dancing, face painting and playing water games... all activities are designed to entertain both adults and children! The Black Pearl organises short excursions (approximately two hours long) out in the open sea of Caorle. There are several collection points (on inflatable rafts): Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10 am opposite the San Francesco Tourist Village, at 1.30 pm opposite the Pra' delle Torri Tourist Village and at 4.15 pm opposite the Shrine of our Lady of the Angel. Tickets can be bought directly on board. For all info, call +39 391 3470549; +39 349 3368198.
Another bonus of Caorle is Aquafollie, a safe and clean waterpark, which isn't that big that you have to worry about losing sight of the children. Aquafollie was recently revamped and now has a brand-new design (Fisherman's Bay was an out and out success!), in addition to safe attractions suitable for children and teens. It features Popeye's ship, slides, and pools including a very special one... the bell rings and the fishermen's village pool transforms into a rough sea for ten minutes...
4) The Funfair
And after a day by the sea and maybe even a home-made ice-cream after dinner, what could be better that a ride on the merry-go-round at the funfair? It's easy to get to the funfair: just hop on the Orient Express dotto train.
5) Events for children
The events season in Caorle is never-ending and there are many performances taking place that are bound to excite even the younger guests. For example, La Luna nel pozzo: in September of every year, there's a street theatre festival with puppet theatres, acrobats, fire eaters, trapeze artists, high-wire acrobats, clowns and much more! All free to access in different parts of Caorle's historic town centre!
6) Aqua Inn
Also fun is the Aqua Inn: a water park with an exciting slide located on the free beach on the Ponente Beach near the Livenza mouth (Via Timavo 6; +39 349 529 1342).
7) Indoor playground
An idea for the days when there is bad weather or it is too hot even for the beach? In Caorle children from 0 to 12 years old can spend entertaining hours in an indoor playground open not only in the summer, but all year round. They can offer a baby-sitting service on payment.
